Another New People’s Army (NPA) member surrendered to authorities at the 1st Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company.

The former rebel is a 40-year-old farmer from Barangay Washington in Catarman, Northern Samar, affiliated with the militant group as a unit munitions member, reported RH 34 Jayne Galit Bantayan.

He is currently under the custody of the police and is expected to undergo the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and the Local Social Integration Program (LSIP), programs that the government typically requires of former rebels.

“We welcome this former combatant into society and offer our full support for their reintegration. This reflects the unwavering commitment of our officers and the support of our communities in the fight against insurgency,” said Acting Force Commander PLtCol. John Ryan Doceo.

The unit’s doors remain open for other combatants who wish to surrender.
