Kabataan Partylist Representative Renee Co has slammed what it described as the “corrupt political dynasties” of the country, saying so-called “nepo babies”, children of powerful political clans, do not deserve public sympathy.
In a strongly worded statement released over the weekend, the youth group accused President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of being the “chief defender of corruption” and the model for other dynasties to follow.
“Nepo babies?
She also added that the “super burgis lifestyle of the 1%” is only possible through the exploitation of the majority of Filipinos.
The youth solons asserted that each peso lost to corruption is a peso stolen from the working people, calling on Filipinos, especially the youth, to unite, organize, and protest.
The statement comes amid heightened discussions on political dynasties, privilege, and corruption in government, issues the Kabataan bloc has consistently raised in Congress and in mass protests.
