The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) remains without newly appointed commissioners despite the resignations of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Babes Singson and Rossana Fajardo last year.

The commission said it continues to carry out its mandate, including the recovery of ill-gotten assets, even as its possible dissolution is reportedly set on February 1.

The ICI stressed that it is promptly verifying and acting on credible information it receives related to the ongoing probe.

This follows the recent seizure of more than 10 luxury vehicles allegedly linked to resigned Ako Bicol party-list Representative Zaldy Co.

Moreover, the commission reiterated its commitment to work closely with other government agencies to ensure the swift recovery of stolen public assets and funds.

Meanwhile, Senator Imee Marcos earlier disclosed that the ICI is poised to be dissolved in February, noting that Chairman Andres "Andy" Reyes is reportedly the commission’s only remaining member.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla also said the commission may have only about two months left to submit its investigation findings to his office.
