President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced on Wednesday, October 15 that the bicameral conference committee meetings for the proposed ₱6.793-trillion 2026 national budget will be livestreamed to the public, as reported by RH Leth Narciso.

Marcos said both the House of Representatives and the Senate have agreed to make the deliberations open through livestreaming, ensuring that Filipinos can witness in real time how the national budget is finalized.

“And to further encourage transparency, I intend to livestream the bicameral. There is no more small committee. I have the agreement of the Senate President and the [House] Speaker na ganoon ang gagawin natin,” the President said.

He added that the move would make it easier for the public to identify any questionable amendments or insertions in the spending plan.

“If there are questionable, shall we say, insertions or additions or all that, it will also be clear who moved, who made those changes or who proposed those changes so people will know,” Marcos added.

The announcement comes after the House of Representatives approved on third and final reading its version of the 2026 General Appropriations Bill (House Bill 4058) on October 13.
