Toll fees on the NLEX northbound from Balintawak to Meycauayan will be temporarily waived starting Sunday, June 22, as the repairs for the Marilao Bridge are ongoing.
On Saturday, June 21, the NLEX Corporation announced that toll fees from the Balintawak to Macauayan will be temporarily waived starting June 22, from 1:00 AM until 12:00 AM.
“To facilitate the immediate repair of the Marilao Overpass Bridge, which sustained severe damage from a truck violating regulations, NLEX Corporation will implement temporary toll relief on the northbound portion of the expressway from Balintawak to Meycauayan starting June 22, 2025 at 1:00am until 12:00 midnight,” the NLEX Corporation’s statement read.
Appropriate traffic measures will be in place to minimize inconvenience for motorists as repairs are ongoing.
“We ask for the motoring public’s patience and understanding,” NLEX Corporation wrote.
In a separate post, the corporation said it has begun its expedited repair works on the Marilao Overpass Bridge, which was recently struck by an overheight truck.
“The Marilao Overpass Bridge is part of the road network of the Province of Bulacan. The bridge was constructed prior to the rehabilitation of the NLEX and presently has a vertical clearance of 4.27 meters at both directions,” its statement read.
“It is not part of the NLEX Concession, nonetheless, NLEX conducts necessary repairs on the bridge to ensure its structural integrity for the safety of the NLEX motorists,” it added.
In the interest of public safety, the corporation said it is willing to construct a new and upgraded bridge to “support the plans of the relevant National and Local Government agencies.”
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) had previously directed the agency to immediately suspend toll collection at the northbound segment of the Marilao Interchange, following the truck accident last June 18.
