Motorists can use the newly opened NLEX-C5 Northlink elevated section for free until Dec. 31, 2026, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced.
“Kagaya ng mga ginagawa natin sa ibang lugar, sa ibang mga daanan na bagong bukas, dahil kaya pa naman, pinagbibigyan tayo ay libre ang pagdaan dito ngayon hanggang end of the year,” Marcos said during his visit to the expressway.
During the visit, NLEX also presented a toll operation permit for the road section.
The 2-kilometer elevated expressway connects Mindanao Avenue in Valenzuela City to Quirino Highway in Quezon City, cutting travel time between the two points from about 40 to 45 minutes to roughly five minutes.
The road is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and accommodates all vehicle classes.
The toll-free period is intended to allow motorists to use the new route without paying toll fees until the end of 2026.
