Nikka Garcia publicly expressed her support for her husband, actor Patrick Garcia, amid the backlash over his recent interview about his past relationship with actress Jennylyn Mercado.
In an Instagram Stories post, Nikka shared a message praising Patrick as a good, hardworking and gentle man.
“I won in this life. I fell in love with a good man and I’ll never stop being grateful for that,” Nikka wrote.
“A self-made man. A hardworking man. A gentle man and safe man. A man who takes care of me in all the ways that matter,” she added.
Nikka also tagged Patrick and wrote, “Lavyew (Love you),” alongside a photo of their family.
Her post came after Patrick broke his silence on his past with Jennylyn in an interview with Ogie Diaz, addressing long-standing questions about his relationship with the actress and his relationship with their son, Alex Jazz.
Patrick said he decided to share his side after his daughter, Michelle Garcia, was dragged into the controversy and received harsh comments from netizens.
He also maintained that he loves all his children, including Jazz, whom he said he has not seen since 2017.
Jennylyn has not publicly responded to Patrick’s revelations and has appealed for the bashing to stop.
Her husband, actor Dennis Trillo, also weighed in on the issue, saying he does not favor online bashing while thanking Patrick for remembering Jazz amid the backlash involving his daughter.
Jennylyn’s longtime manager, Becky Aguila, meanwhile, defended the actress and said there were things Patrick had done that hurt Jennylyn, but she chose not to discuss them publicly out of respect for him as Jazz’s father and for his family.
Patrick and Nikka married in 2015 and have four children together.
