Love Radio Manila has launched a new podcast that combines spine-chilling paranormal stories with humor, as DJ-hosts Nicole Hyala and Titan Gelo take listeners through supposedly unexplained supernatural encounters in “Ang Mga Kwento ng Mahiwagang Boornay.”
The podcast released its pilot episode, “Huling Booking,” on August 27, featuring the story of “Jericho,” a 29-year-old ride-hailing driver who claims he picked up a mysterious passenger during his final booking of the night.
According to the story, Jericho accepted a late-night booking from Greenwoods Executive Village to Pasig Memorial Chapel. He said he picked up a woman wearing a white hoodie and denim skirt, who identified herself as a third-year nursing student.
The ride initially appeared ordinary until Jericho noticed that his motorcycle suddenly felt heavier, as if another passenger had joined them.
Things took a frightening turn when he received a call from a woman asking why he had not yet arrived at the pickup point.
When Jericho described the woman he had picked up, the caller allegedly revealed that the passenger was her daughter, who had died in a C-5 accident the previous night.
The story reaches its chilling climax when Jericho claims he felt a cold, wet hand on his shoulder and heard the passenger whisper, “Kuya... bakit ka huminto? Malapit na tayo.”
The episode ends with Jericho saying he has since avoided looking at his side mirror whenever a passenger becomes unusually quiet.
“Hanggang ngayon, hindi na ako lumilingon sa side mirror tuwing may pasahero akong bumubulong,” Jericho said in the story.
Nicole emphasized that the podcast's stories are submitted by listeners and that identifying details are changed to protect their privacy.
“Ang episode na ito ay naglalaman ng mga kwentong ipinadala ng ating viewers. Mga karanasang hanggang ngayon ay wala pa ring malinaw na paliwanag,” Nicole said in the episode.
Beyond the horror narratives, “Ang Mga Kwento ng Mahiwagang Boornay” also features the hosts' reactions, observations, theories and personal insights after each story.
Nicole narrates the listener-submitted accounts in a suspenseful and immersive manner, while she and Gelo follow each story with humorous commentary, relatable takes and light-hearted roasting of some of the situations and decisions described.
The format aims to give listeners both a paranormal experience and an entertaining conversation after the story, blending horror and comedy in a style designed to keep audiences engaged even after the scares subside.
With “Huling Booking” as its opening story, Love Radio Manila's new podcast invites listeners to hear supernatural accounts that remain unexplained — and perhaps think twice before checking their side mirrors on a late-night ride.
