Love Radio DJ Emmylou Gaite-Tiñana, popularly known by her screen name Nicole Hyala, recently shared a throwback video of her participation in the historic EDSA Dos rally.

In the clip, Nicole can be seen actively taking part in the mass movement while serving as the Student Council President of Assumption College. She shared the video with the caption, “Anyway, kung ang trend ay 2016 throwback, ten years back, let me share mine from 25 years ago, 2001.”

During a television interview, Nicole mentioned senators at the time who were also alumnae of Assumption College, including former Senator Tessie Aquino-Oreta and Senator Loren Legarda-Leviste. However, she expressed her disappointment solely toward Aquino-Oreta, saying she was disheartened that the former senator seemed to have forgotten the values and lessons instilled by their alma mater.

Nicole further emphasized in her caption that her principles have remained unchanged over the years, as she continues to stand up for what she believes is right. She wrote, “Pilipinas, lovelife, pamilya, kalusugan, Love Radio. Kahit mahirap at takot, I show up and fight.”

In a Love Radio segment, a netizen asked whether she would allow her child to join rallies or choose to migrate to another country instead. Nicole shared that she would encourage her child to fight for what is right, just as she did when she was younger, rather than turning away from the country’s struggles.
