More suspects possibly connected to the case of the missing “sabungeros” or cockfighters have been identified by the Philippine National Police (PNP), announced its Chief PGEN Nicolas Torre III.

Aside from the 15 policemen under restrictive custody at Camp Crame, Torre revealed his men have located other unnamed personalities implicated during the investigation.

The police are ready to monitor the said suspects’ whereabouts to quicken their arrest once a warrant has been issued in relation to the case.

“Hindi na tayo tumitigil sa 15. May iba pang mga personalities na nai-identify as the investigation goes on. May mga information din tayo kung nasaan sila, tinitingnan natin. At kung kailangan silang i-surveillance pending the issuance of the warrant of arrest, we will do it. Para pag dating ng warrant of arrest, hulihin nalang natin,” Torre said.

The top cop disclosed that among the 15 policemen detained in the national headquarters for the duration of the ongoing probe, the highest-ranking officer holds the title of lieutenant colonel. All are active members of the national police, excluding three who have been dismissed.

A number of the suspects are assigned to regional offices, some to the area police command, and others serve in the support unit.

The PNP is also currently looking into other probable disposal areas where the bodies of the missing cockfighters may have been hidden, apart from Taal Lake.
