Close to 100 flights bound for and departing from the Middle East have been cancelled or diverted due to escalating hostilities involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
CAAP reported that from February 28 to March 3, at least 25 flights of Philippine Airlines and 24 flights of Emirates were cancelled. Meanwhile, 13 flights of Qatar Airways were scrapped, along with 11 flights each from Cebu Pacific and Etihad Airways, and two flights from Kuwait Airways.
Among the cancelled flights on Tuesday, March 3, were:
Philippine Airlines flights
- PR659 (Dubai–Manila)
- PR684 (Manila–Doha)
- PR685 (Doha–Manila)
Emirates flights
- EK332 (Dubai–Manila)
- EK335 (Manila–Dubai)
- EK336 (Dubai–Manila)
- EK337 (Manila–Dubai)
Most of the disrupted routes involve key Middle Eastern hubs such as Doha, Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Kuwait, where airspace restrictions and safety concerns have prompted airlines to suspend or reroute services.
CAAP urged passengers to verify their flight status with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport, warning that further changes may occur depending on developments in the region.
