The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) warned individuals against making bomb threats ahead of the observance of Undas, stressing that even jokes or pranks involving such threats are punishable by law.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano issued the warning following a series of bomb threats reported at several universities in Manila in recent days.
Abrahano said he has directed police district directors to pursue a thorough investigation and identify those responsible, emphasizing that authorities will coordinate with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit to assess and respond to reported threats.
“Ang importante dito, ang mga kababayan natin dapat nilang malaman na krimen po ang magpadala ng bomb threat. Kahit joke ito, kahit prank, krimen po ito, may kulong po ito,” Abrahano said.
He stressed that the police would not stop investigating until those behind the threats are identified and held accountable.
“The only credible deterrent dito is certainty of arrest,” he added.
