The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Tuesday it is fully prepared for the upcoming anti-corruption rally scheduled on February 25, according to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort.

When asked by DZRH News, NCRPO Director Major General Anthony Aberin said that security measures have already been put in place to ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the demonstration.

"Yung mga rally na 'yan, a way of life ng NCRPO and we have already plans for it and we are already ready," Aberin said.

"Kung maghapon siguro may dalawa o tatlong rally kaming inaasahan...Lalo na itong scheduled rally sa February 25 mas paghahandaan namin and as early as now naghahanda na kami," he added.

Aberin said around 13,000 to 14,000 police personnel will be deployed at designated rally sites to ensure a peaceful and orderly protest.

The NCRPO chief added that the possible deployment of container vans and barbed wire along Mendiola will depend on intelligence information, particularly if the demonstrators attempt to reach the area.

Aberin reiterated that there was no “overkill” in the police deployment during the most recent large-scale protest on November 30.

He stressed that it is better for the NCRPO to be overprepared than to face criticism for being unprepared, especially after the protest action on September 21 turned chaotic.
