The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is on alert for the upcoming commemoration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, locally known as “Undas,” according to a Wednesday report.
NCRPO Officer-in-Charge PBGen. Christopher Abrahano, police are ironing out security measures to be implemented so as to ensure the safety and security of Filipinos who will be visiting their deceased loved ones at cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbariums across Metro Manila, reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.
Abrahano tasked all police district directors, chiefs of police, and station commanders to coordinate with cemetery and columbarium administrators in planning out security arrangements through identifying possible security concerns and ensuring peaceful celebrations.
He added that police should work with local government units (LGUs), traffic authorities, and other relevant agencies to prepare traffic management plans.
The NCRPO will be deploying its personnel to strategic areas, including the cemetery entrance and exit points, nearby roads, transport terminals, and other such locations they expect will see a surge in visitors.
In addition, Abrahano ordered increased police visibility and security monitoring to preempt criminal activities and ensure prompt emergency responses.
