The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has placed Metro Manila on heightened alert ahead of the upcoming Holy Week, with more than 12,000 police officers set to be deployed across the region.
According to PMGEN Anthony A. Aberin, personnel will be stationed in critical areas such as churches, transportation hubs, major roads, commercial districts, and other high-congestion zones to ensure public safety.
Aberin has directed all unit commanders to intensify police visibility, particularly in strategic locations, as an influx of travelers is expected during the summer vacation period.
The move aims to prevent crimes and ensure an immediate response to any untoward incidents.
The NCRPO also emphasized the importance of public cooperation to maintain a peaceful and orderly observance of Semana Santa across the National Capital Region (NCR).
