The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday denied reports that two people died during protests marking the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law on Monday, Sept. 21.

“Based on real-time monitoring and the reports submitted by our personnel on the ground, no fatalities or casualties occurred during the activity,“ the police said in a statement.

NCRPO said that there was a brief moment of tension, but the situation was quickly resolved through dialogue and the strict observance of maximum tolerance.

The NCRPO maintained that the protests remained “peaceful and orderly.“
