National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) BARMM Regional Director Atty. Jeremy Lotoc testified on Monday that, based on the agency’s investigation, Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement about wanting to “remove a head” referred to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

During the fourth day of Duterte’s impeachment trial, House private prosecutor Atty. Amando Virgil Ligutan asked Lotoc whose head the Vice President was referring to in her statement.

“The President of the Republic of the Philippines,” Lotoc replied.

Ligutan confirmed the response, asking, “Yung ulo ng Presidente ng Republika ng Pilipinas?”

“Opo,” Lotoc answered.

When asked what evidence supported the conclusion, Lotoc cited a video obtained by the NBI.

“We have that video, Your Honor, dated October 18, 2024,” Lotoc testified.

Lotoc’s testimony forms part of the prosecution’s presentation of evidence under Article IV of the Articles of Impeachment, which concerns the alleged grave threats against President Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
