The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has warned individuals against attempting to mislead authorities in the search for fugitive gaming tycoon Atong Ang, according to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort on Damdaming Bayan on Friday.

NBI spokesperson Palmer Mallari emphasized that the bureau can quickly identify and trace individuals who provide false tips or attempt to divert operatives to the wrong locations.

Mallari acknowledged that the NBI has limited personnel and resources, which could be wasted by those trying to interfere with the operation.

Despite a month passing since the issuance of the first arrest warrant, authorities have yet to track down the gaming mogul.

Yesterday, operatives from the NBI’s Organized Transnational Crime Division conducted a raid at the residence of Ang’s children in an exclusive Makati City subdivision, but the tycoon was not found.

Earlier, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced that the reward for information leading to Ang, accused of masterminding the killings of missing cockfight operators, has been increased to ₱20 million.

Despite the difficulties in apprehending him, the NBI remains confident that Ang has not yet left the Philippines.
