The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is seeking coordination with authorities in Laos regarding a Filipino pilot allegedly linked to drug-related cases, NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag said Tuesday.

In a report by DZRH’s Noche Cacas, Matibag said during a press conference that the agency was coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to establish communication with Lao authorities and facilitate further investigation.

Matibag identified the pilot as Rioklyn Toledo, also known as Boyet Toledo, and said the NBI had found records of several cases involving him, including alleged violations involving violence against women and children (VAWC), bouncing checks, estafa, and drugs.

“So that we can have an interaction with them. This is with the help of the Department of Foreign Affairs,” Matibag said, referring to the planned coordination with Lao authorities.

He added that the NBI was still awaiting communication as it pursued the matter.

The development comes amid reports of a major drug seizure involving an aircraft in Laos. The NBI has yet to provide further details on the pilot’s alleged connection to the incident
