The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) formally moved to cancel the firearms licenses of more than 100 guns reportedly registered under Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, according to officials.

NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag confirmed in an interview with DZRH News that the bureau has already sent a formal letter to the Philippine National Police (PNP) requesting the cancellation of the licenses.

The firearms reportedly include automatic rifles, high-powered firearms, and shotguns.

The move comes amid ongoing legal and security concerns involving the senator, who has been previously tagged by the NBI as 'armed and dangerous' in relation to efforts to locate him under an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The bureau also described the senator’s background as a former chief of the PNP as a 'major concern,' noting that it may pose challenges to ongoing enforcement operations.

Authorities have not released additional details on the specific status of the firearms licenses or the timeline for possible cancellation.
