The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has rescued four minor victims and arrested two individuals in separate operations targeting the online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).
The operations, led by the NBI’s Human Trafficking Division, stemmed from intelligence shared by the Australian Federal Police, which uncovered networks involved in the production and distribution of child sexual abuse materials.
Digital evidence revealed that one suspect allegedly received payments to facilitate live-streamed abuse involving her own children, while another was accused of trafficking her minor child.
Authorities conducted coordinated raids in Laguna and Pampanga after extensive surveillance and financial tracking confirmed ongoing illegal activities.
Operations in San Pablo City led to the arrest of one suspect and the rescue of a minor, while a simultaneous raid in Angeles City resulted in another arrest and the rescue of three additional victims.
The suspects are now facing inquest proceedings for violations of Republic Act No. 11930 and Republic Act No. 9208. NBI Director Melvin A. Matibag reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to intensifying efforts against online child exploitation and protecting vulnerable minors.
