The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided an alleged scam hub in Subic, taking about 200 foreign nationals into custody, NBI Director Melvin Matibag said.

Matibag told DZRH News operatives arrested and rescued foreign nationals during the operation. They are now undergoing the necessary procedures.

Matibag also said the suspected scam hub was operated by Chinese and Vietnamese nationals.

The bureau is continuing its investigation to determine the extent of the alleged illegal activities and identify those responsible.

According to NBI chief, those arrested face charges involving computer-related fraud under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

He warned those involved in similar schemes that the NBI would pursue them and hold them accountable under the law.

Matibag also stressed the bureau’s mandate to protect the public from online exploitation and cybercriminals.
