The camp of content creator Vinz Jimenez has confirmed that he has been summoned by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in connection with a complaint for alleged cyber libel.
In an official statement released by Rimando Law Office, lawyer Cristobal Rimando said Jimenez received a subpoena ad testificandum from the NBI–Violence Against Women and Children Division (VAWCD).
The subpoena is related to a cyber libel complaint reportedly filed by a woman Jimenez had previously been courting.
Rimando said his client has acknowledged receipt of the subpoena and is prepared to appear before the NBI on the scheduled date with legal counsel. He added that Jimenez will fully cooperate with the investigation and address the matter in accordance with the law.
The lawyer emphasized that the issuance of a subpoena is part of the standard investigative process and does not amount to a finding of guilt. He said the camp trusts that the case will be resolved based on evidence and due process.
“At this time, we respectfully decline to comment further in order to preserve the integrity of the proceedings,” the statement read.
Jimenez earlier drew widespread attention on social media during the holiday season after posting a video that included screenshots of private conversations, which he presented as a wrapped “gift.”
The screenshots allegedly showed exchanges meant to support his claim that the woman he was courting had deceived him and was using him for favors and meals.
