The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Tuesday announced that it has also launched its own investigation into the school shooting that took place in San Jose National High School, Tacloban City on June 22.
Speaking to DZRH, NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag himself confirmed the development, reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.
On Monday, two minors—identified as alias “Rod,” 15, and alias “Nash,” 14—were seized by authorities after opening fire in a classroom.
According to the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8), the children in conflict with the law (CICLs) did not have specific targets and shot their victims at random.
While initial speculation and accounts pointed to grudges over bullying as the motive for the shooting incident, some have pointed out clues that indicate other reasons.
Tech Support Professional and Cybersecurity Analyst Art Samaniego Jr. believes that Nash’s shirt, which bears the letters “KMFDM,” an initialism of the German phrase “Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid,” translates to “No Mercy for the Masses.”
KMFDM, the German band and their music, although staunchly opposed to school shootings, have long been associated with perpetrators, according to online reports.
