The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday filed charges against former Congressman Mike Defensor’s wife and son before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office. After a raid, the bureau rescued 54 sexual exploitation victims from a discobar the two allegedly managed.

Speaking to DZRH, NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag confirmed that Julie Rose Defensor, Miguel Gabriel Defensor, and others have been charged with violating the Anti-Trafficking in Person Act and the Dangerous Drugs Act, reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.

This comes after an NBI raid into Chicago discobar in Chicago Cliff point square, Julia Vargas Avenue, Pasig City wherein 54 female victims were rescued.

According to the bureau’s report, the victims were made into “customer care assistants” for sexual exploitation in exchange for ₱10,000 to up to ₱20,000.

The victims would be subjected to sexual acts in the rooms of BLEU Hotel, reportedly owned by a company run by Julie and Miguel Defensor.

Moreover, according to a document released to the public, the women would dance naked on a stage in front of customers.

Aside from this, the NBI also found that drugs had been used in the establishment.
