The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed a complaint against vlogger Jack Argota over his alleged dissemination of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fake medical records.
Speaking to DZRH News, NBI Spokesperson Palmer Mallari said that cyberlibel and unjust publication complaints have been filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ), reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.
Before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, personnel of the NBI Cybercrime Division headed to the DOJ office to file the complaint against Argota, who recently visited the NBI after being issued a subpoena.
Argota had earlier insisted on his innocence. St. Luke’s Medical Center, which had supposedly issued the medical test results, denied its involvement, asserting that it adheres to a strict patient confidentiality and data privacy policy.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro called the spread of the fake medical documents an attempt at destabilizing the current administration.
The NBI has also filed cyberlibel cases against former broadcaster Jay Sonza and vlogger Ka Eric Celiz for the same allegation.
