National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Atty. Melvin Matibag will attend the House of Representatives’ impeachment hearing against Vice President Sara Duterte on April 14, 2026.

According to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort, Matibag told DZRH News that he is prepared to submit all documents requested by the House Committee on Justice.

He noted that the submissions will specifically include records related to the NBI’s investigation into Duterte’s alleged threats against President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Matibag confirmed that he will comply with the House panel’s subpoena and provide certified copies of the bureau’s investigation records.

This stems from a late-night livestream in 2024, during which the Vice President allegedly issued threats against Marcos.

Duterte also faces multiple allegations, including the alleged misuse of public funds.
