The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has issued a statement supporting the closure order against Bleu Hotel in Pasig, stressing that the case stems from serious allegations of human trafficking and prostitution and not from speculation or political motives.

In its statement, the NBI emphasized that the matter remains subject to due process, noting that the case is not yet final. All parties, it said, are entitled to legal safeguards, including the right to respond to accusations, present evidence, and undergo proper judicial proceedings before any determination of liability is made.

Human trafficking, the agency stressed, is considered one of the gravest offenses under Philippine law due to its exploitative nature and severe impact on victims.

It said establishments found to have been used for such activities must be held accountable in accordance with existing legal frameworks.

The NBI also underscored that liability may extend beyond on-site management, potentially covering owners, incorporators, and individuals with legal or beneficial control over a business if it is proven that the establishment was used to facilitate trafficking activities.

The closure order issued by the Pasig local government, according to the agency, reflects the government’s firm stance against exploitation and serves as a reminder that business permits and corporate structures do not exempt entities from responsibility under the law.

The bureau further urged business operators to ensure strict compliance with legal standards and proper oversight of their establishments, reaffirming its commitment to protect victims, prosecute offenders, and dismantle systems that enable human trafficking.
