The National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) has announced the key groups and communities it aims to prioritize in the coming year, 2026.
RH Leth Narciso reported on dzRH's Damdaming Bayan, under the leadership of NAP Secretary Lope Santos III, the commission identified Indigenous peoples as the primary focus of its programs and interventions.
Other priority groups include farming communities, coastal communities, and residents of geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).
The commission will also target disaster-prone areas, informal settlements, and those living in reclamation zones.
Secretary Lopez Santos emphasized that the NAPC will ensure these priority areas are reached and that government projects and programs aimed at poverty reduction are effectively linked and implemented.
