The National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) has issued a public advisory warning customers and stakeholders about the growing threat of AI-assisted scams that use more sophisticated and personalized tactics to deceive victims.

In its statement, the agency urged vigilance against individuals falsely claiming to represent NAPOCOR officials, including its President, Jericho Nograles. “Please remain vigilant against individuals falsely claiming to represent President Jericho ‘Koko’ Nograles or any other NAPOCOR officials,” the corporation said.

NAPOCOR emphasized that it strictly follows Republic Act No. 6713, which prohibits government officials and employees from soliciting or accepting gifts, favors, or any form of benefit in relation to their duties.

“NAPOCOR strictly adheres to the provisions of Republic Act 6713… which prohibits officials and employees from soliciting or accepting any gift, favor, or benefit,” it added.

The agency encouraged the public to immediately report suspicious calls or messages involving solicitations or fraudulent activities through its official hotline and email channels. It also warned that individuals misrepresenting themselves as NAPOCOR representatives will face legal action.

“This advisory is issued for the information and guidance of the public,” NAPOCOR said.
