The National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) has assured the public that no brownouts are expected in its service areas despite the ongoing fuel supply crisis.
NAPOCOR President and CEO Jericho Jonas Nograles made the statement during a hearing of the Legislative Energy Action Development Council, emphasizing that power supply remains stable.
Nograles clarified that the recent power interruptions reported in Palawan and Quezon were not caused by fuel shortages but by logistical issues affecting fuel delivery.
While maintaining that electricity supply is secure, NAPOCOR acknowledged that rising global oil prices continue to impact operations. Nograles stressed the need for efficient resource management, noting that uncertainties surrounding the ongoing crisis in the Middle East could further affect fuel costs.
The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power service while closely monitoring developments in the global energy market.
