Senator Imee Marcos on Wednesday voiced her disappointment with what she described as the increasingly 'chaotic' state of the Philippine Senate.
In an exclusive interview on DZRH, Marcos lamented that senators feel as though they are being fooled around due to the repeated rescheduling of sessions, particularly those of the Blue Ribbon Committee and the ongoing budget hearings.
“Parang niloloko tayo e. Dahil yun nga, papalit-palit ng Blue Ribbon [Chairperson], tapos pinagbabawalan, tapos ire-reschedule," the senator said.
The senator’s remarks come amid rising tensions within the Senate, as leadership shifts and procedural delays have sparked rumors of internal power struggles.
On Tuesday, Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson was reelected as chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee, which investigates alleged corruption in the government’s flood control projects. It can be recalled that Lacson resigned from the post last month amid alleged dissatisfaction among fellow senators regarding the probe.
Meanwhile, Marcos mentioned the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) rally and said that some senators are considering joining the prayer gathering, emphasizing the need for collective reflection and swift action.
The Church earlier announced that it will hold a three-day “Peaceful Rally for Transparency” from November 16 to 18, 2025, which aims to call for accountability and clarity amid ongoing investigations into alleged corruption in government flood control projects and other public works.
