Actress and recording artist Nadine Lustre looked back on a decade of growth, heartbreak, mistakes, and self-discovery in her latest single, “10YRS.”
Released worldwide through Cool Girl Records, the introspective track reflects on the experiences that shaped Lustre over the past 10 years, while exploring themes of healing, transformation, self-worth, and accepting life’s uncertainties.
Lustre said her experiences in her 20s taught her that some things only become clearer after going through them.
“I used to think life was supposed to make sense while I was living it. My 20s taught me that sometimes you have to live through the whole thing before you understand why certain versions of you had to exist.
She added that the difficult and meaningful moments of the past decade eventually became part of her journey.
Lustre also described the song as something she wrote for the version of herself who experienced those changes throughout the years.
“10YRS” was written by Lustre and Rose Caroline Mamonong, with beats and instrumentation by Isagani Palabyab. Violinist GD Onallices also contributed to the track.
The song carries a subdued production that puts the focus on Lustre’s vocals and its reflective lyrics, including the line, “Dance with the chaos like I’m part of it,” which captures its message of embracing life despite its unpredictability.
Rather than simply revisiting past struggles, “10YRS” reflects on how those experiences can become part of personal growth and transformation, while emphasizing the importance of letting go and moving forward.
The new single follows Lustre’s recent releases “Donuts” and “Personal.”
“10YRS” is now available on digital music platforms worldwide, while its official lyric video has also been released on Lustre’s YouTube channel.
