After evading authorities for 12 years, a murder suspect linked to a 2014 case has finally been apprehended last February 26, according to a report by DZRH Correspondent Romeo Gonzales during Magandang Umaga Pilipinas.
The suspect, a resident of Balbalan and reportedly affiliated with a Communist Terrorist Group, was identified by the Balbalan Municipal Police Station while facing another legal case.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect had an outstanding warrant of arrest for murder issued by Hon. Marcelino Wacas, presiding judge of Branch 25, Regional Trial Court, 2nd Judicial Region, Bulano, Tabucity. The court did not recommend any provisional release.
The suspect remained at large for over a decade until being taken into custody by the Bureau of Jail and Management and Penology for a separate offense. This allowed authorities to serve the long-standing arrest warrant while the suspect was detained.
