Various multisectoral groups held separate protest actions across Manila on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in commemoration of International Human Rights Day.
The groups called for an end to corruption and alleged abuses under the administrations of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.
Despite intermittent rain, the Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA) led a demonstration along España Boulevard. Meanwhile, rights group Karapatan and progressive coalition Bayan staged their own program at Liwasang Bonifacio.
"Ngayong paggunita sa 77th year ng International Human Rights Day, nagmamartsa kami sa lansangan para manawagan ang lahat ng sangkot sa pasismo, korapsyon, at pagpapahirap sa sambayanang Pilipino," Karapatan Secretary General Cristina Palabay said.
"Tama na po, sobra na po ang pangungurakot, pananakot at pagpapahirap sa mamamayan," she added.
Palabay also called for an end to killings, illegal arrests, abductions, and the bombing of farming and indigenous communities, which she said have continued under the Marcos administration with the support of Vice President Sara Duterte.
"Sa pasismo Uniteam pa rin sila," Palabay said.
More than a hundred protesters joined the march toward Mendiola, demanding accountability from national leaders and urging both Marcos and Duterte to step down.
According to the groups, the two officials have "failed" to implement clear and concrete measures to improve the welfare of Filipino families.
The rallyists also criticized what they described as ongoing human rights violations and abuses involving some government officials, noting that these unresolved issues continue to fuel public dissent and spark more protest actions.
Protesters from Liwasang Bonifacio were still en route to Mendiola as of midday, marching through Rizal Park and Recto Avenue before converging near the historic bridge.
