Starting Wednesday, July 17, the conduct of clamping and towing are strictly prohibited in Manila City as ordered by the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB).

The order was made following the frequent "numerous complaints" being received by the MTPB.

"In view of this, all concerned personnel are hereby directed to ensure that no towing and clamping operation will be taken place, otherwise, those who shall deliberately ignore this directive will be dealt with accordingly," the memorandum read.

The memorandum was signed by MTPB Office In Charge Narciso T. Diokno, III.
