An ash emission was recorded at Mt. Mayon on Friday morning, according to state seismologists.

At 8:44 a.m., the volcano emitted a grayish plume that reached up to 300 meters above the summit crater before drifting north-northeast, an event recorded by Mayon Volcano Observatory - Ligñon Hill (VMLH) Crater RasPi Camera, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

At present, Alert Level 2 prevails over Mayon Volcano.

PHIVOLCS recommends that entry into the 6-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone be avoided.
