Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) passengers can enjoy free rides every Wednesday throughout August by presenting their Philippine National ID when boarding.
According to MRT-3 management, the 'Libreng Sakay' will be available starting Wednesday, August 6, and will run every Wednesday until August 27.
The initiative will be offered during two specific time slots: from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
"Ang Libreng Sakay ay alinsunod sa layunin ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. na mapalaganap ang paggamit ng National ID, para sa mas madaling mga transaksiyon, pampubliko man o pribado, at mas mabilis at inklusibong paghahatid ng mga serbisyong panlipunan," DOTr MRT-3 wrote in a statement.
The passengers must present their National ID, either the physical card, printed paper version, or a digital copy, at the station's service gate to avail of the free ride.
