The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) deployed 18 trains along its mainline on Tuesday, October 20, to accommodate commuter demand, as its Araneta-Cubao and Quezon Avenue stations recorded moderate passenger volume on the southbound side.
In an advisory issued at 7:20 a.m., the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said the two stations were experiencing moderate passenger volume amid continued high commuter demand, particularly during peak hours.
The MRT-3 also cited the continued implementation of a 50% fare discount as it manages passenger demand across its stations.
"The MRT-3 continues to serve a high volume of commuters, particularly during peak hours, with the continued implementation of the 50% fare discount," the advisory read.
Train deployment is being managed to accommodate commuters, while crowd management measures are in place to ensure passenger safety and orderly movement, the DOTr said.
Meanwhile, the agency thanked commuters for their patience and understanding and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
