A confirmed case of Mpox has been reported in Mandaluyong City, local health authorities said, prompting intensified monitoring and response measures to prevent further spread.
The Mandaluyong City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), in coordination with the City Health Department and the Department of Health’s Regional Epidemiology and Health Statistics Section (DOH-REHSS), said the case is now under close observation.
Authorities have initiated standard response protocols, including case investigation, contact tracing and continuous monitoring of individuals who may have been exposed.
City officials urged residents to remain vigilant and follow basic health precautions to reduce the risk of infection.
These include frequent handwashing with soap and clean water or the use of alcohol-based sanitizers, avoiding direct skin-to-skin contact with individuals showing unexplained rashes or lesions, and observing proper respiratory hygiene such as covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
Residents experiencing symptoms such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, or unexplained rashes or skin lesions are advised to seek immediate medical consultation.
The CESU said it will continue strict disease surveillance and rapid response efforts to ensure public safety, while reminding the public to rely only on official government channels for accurate information.
