A 33-year-old mother has been arrested and is facing a murder complaint after her four-year-old son was allegedly stabbed to death in Camiling, Tarlac.

In the report of DZRH's Grace Sansano, Camiling Municipal Police Station Chief of Police Lt. Col. Eulogio Lamqui III identified the suspect as Julie Lintao, who authorities said was reportedly experiencing psychological depression.

The victim, identified as Justine Nagtamo, was allegedly found with multiple stab wounds on different parts of his body. Police said a kitchen knife was reportedly used in the attack.

According to authorities, the child’s father became alarmed after he could not find his youngest son and his wife. During the search, he allegedly found the boy beside their house, covered in blood and suffering from multiple injuries.

Police said the mother fled the area but was subsequently arrested and is now facing a murder case.

Lamqui also said authorities had previously observed unusual behavior from the suspect and had brought the matter to the attention of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO). However, the family reportedly struggled financially and she was unable to receive proper consultation and medication.

Some relatives said they believe the tragedy might have been prevented had the mother received appropriate professional intervention and treatment. Authorities, however, have yet to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
