A total of 2,212 individuals were displaced in Davao region due to heavy rains and floods, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) - Davao on Wednesday, January 16.
Interviewed during DZRH's Dos Por Dos, OCD - Davao Director Ednar Dayanghirang said that Davao De Oro has the most number of evacuees followed by Davao Occidental and Davao Oriental.
Dayanghirang assured that the evacuess have started to return home after the rains eased.
"Halos wala na. Ang iba bumabalik na from evacuation centers to their areas. Ang government naman is now able to provide na necessary food assistance," he reported.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that Mindanao experiences rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.
