Filipina idol group MNL48 revealed on Facebook on December 29 that it will be changing both its operating company name and group name.

The announcement opened by expressing gratitude to fans for the continued support the group has received throughout the years.

In the statement, MNL48 said, “We would like to inform you that MNL48 plans to change both its operating company name and group name in January 2026.”

The group explained the reason behind the decision, stating, “This decision has been made as part of our efforts to move forward into a new chapter, while cherishing the history, experiences, and strong bonds we have built together with our fans over the years. The spirit of MNL48 and the dedication of its members will remain unchanged.”

Details regarding the new group name and future plans have yet to be announced.

The notice concluded with a message of appreciation, saying, “We sincerely thank all our fans for their continued support, and we kindly ask for your ongoing understanding and encouragement.”

Earlier this April, MNL48 marked its return to the spotlight with “MNL48 Reboot and Rise,” highlighted by a mini-festival held at SM North EDSA Annex. The event celebrated the group’s comeback and also served as a farewell to graduating members Abby, Brei, Dian, Francese, Jan, Jem, Sela, and Sheki.
