The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be implementing adjusted mall hours in preparation for the fast-approaching holiday season starting on November 17.

MMDA Chairman Romando “Don” Artes announced that malls will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the exception of restaurants and groceries within the malls, which may open earlier, reported RH 52 Edniel Parrosa.

Under the agency and mall operators’ agreement, big sales will only take place on the weekends to ease traffic congestion.

Moreover, Artes said that the adjusted hours will be in effect from November 17 to December 25, Christmas day.

Meanwhile, excavations along roads have also been prohibited, excluding flagship government projects and urgent utility repairs.
