The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will suspend all road excavation works on national and city roads across Metro Manila from Nov. 1 to Dec. 23 to ease traffic congestion ahead of the Christmas season.

The suspension aims to ensure smoother travel for motorists amid the expected increase in vehicle volume during the holiday season, the MMDA said in an advisory.

However, certain government flagship projects and emergency repairs are exempt from the suspension under Memorandum Circular No. 20, series of 2026.
