The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has officially launched the new version of its May Huli Ka website on Monday, where motorists can check if they have violations under the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
The website can be accessed at mayhulika.mmda.gov.ph.
According to MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando Artes, the upgraded platform offers enhanced privacy protection. Motorists will now be required to input both their vehicle's plate number and MV (Motor Vehicle) file number to access violation records.
"The inclusion of the MV file number is an added security and protection so that only the vehicle owners can securely check their violations under NCAP,” said Artes during the launch held at the MMDA Communications and Command Center, MMDA Head Office in Pasig City.
In the previous version of the website, vehicle owners could check their traffic violations by simply entering their plate numbers. However, this raised concerns about data privacy, prompting the need for a more secure and verified system, according to Artes.
The updated website now provides step-by-step instructions on what to do if a motorist has a violation, how to pay the fines, where to pay them, and how to file an appeal if the motorist believes the violation is incorrect.
To make the system more convenient and efficient, Artes said that additional features will be introduced soon. These include:
- Access to detailed violation information such as photos, videos, the exact date and time, type of violation, corresponding fines, and settlement locations
- Real-time SMS and email alerts upon account creation to notify users of new violations
- The ability to register multiple vehicles or an entire fleet under a single account
- Online filing of appeals and access to hearing schedules
Integrated online payment options
The MMDA is also set to launch a system that provides real-time notifications via text and email, along with online access to violation details.
The event was attended by PNP Chief General Nicolas Torre III, as well as leaders and representatives from transport groups, motorcycle ride-hailing companies, and transport network vehicle services.
