The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) launched an artificial intelligence (AI) robot that will help clean waterways.

On Thursday, December 11, RH Edniel Parrosa reported that the solar-powered robot, dubbed Clear Bot, will aid personnel in cleaning up the waterways along Manila. The said robot was first used along the San Juan River.

According to San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, this initiative is part of their efforts to ease river decongestion, particularly along Manila.

The solar-powered device also has waste tracking through AI.

The local government unit (LGU) earlier began dismantling several houses along the San Juan River as part of the Oplan Kontra-Basura. Meanwhile, the LGU, alongside the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), also plans to install two pumping stations or waterways along the said river.
