Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolás Torre III said Friday that he is willing to assist in efforts to locate Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa amid an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking during a forum at the Manila Hotel, Torre said he remains part of the country’s law enforcement apparatus and would comply with directives, particularly those coming from the President.
“Part pa rin naman ako ng gobyerno. Kaya sa manhunt pwede kami sumali,” Torre said, stressing that while the MMDA is primarily tasked with metro-wide services, it remains part of the government’s broader law enforcement effort.
He added in jest that MMDA personnel could help locate the senator if he were hiding in areas under the agency’s jurisdiction, such as esteros, landfills, or roadways.
“Malay mo nagtago sa landfill, nagtago sa estero, nagtago sa kalsada, pwede nyo kaming maasahan diyan,” Torre said.
He clarified, however, that if the situation falls outside the MMDA’s mandate, the matter would be left to other law enforcement agencies better equipped to handle such operations.
Torre emphasized that compliance would be part of a “whole-of-government approach” under the Marcos administration, underscoring coordination among agencies in carrying out official directives.
Torre was also part of previous operations that led to the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy.
