The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement temporary lane closures and traffic rerouting along portions of EDSA from Friday night to Saturday morning to give way to the Runrio Galaxy Manila Marathon.

In an advisory, MMDA Chairman Atty. Don Artes said traffic management measures will be in effect from 10:30 p.m. on June 12, 2026, until 8:00 a.m. on June 13, 2026, covering the stretch from the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City to the Quezon City Academy (QCA) U-turn slot in Quezon City and vice versa.

According to the MMDA, only participants in the 42-kilometer category will use the EDSA route.

Authorities will temporarily close two lanes in selected portions of EDSA, several intersections, U-turn slots, and flyovers, while traffic rerouting schemes and stop-and-go operations will be implemented to manage vehicle flow during the event.

Among the affected intersections are those connecting EDSA with Macapagal Boulevard, Roxas Boulevard, and Taft Avenue.

The following U-turn slots will also be closed temporarily:

  • Northbound and southbound U-turn slots near F.B. Harrison in Pasay City;
  • Northbound U-turn slot at EDSA-Bonny Serrano near Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Several ramps and interchanges along EDSA will likewise be affected, including the Tramo ramp toward Andrews Avenue and the airport terminals, the Magallanes Interchange, and left-turning ramps in Ayala, Buendia, Estrella, and Ortigas.

Motorists heading northbound are advised to take alternative routes such as Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, President Osmeña Highway, Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Avenue, Aurora Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, and East Avenue.

For southbound motorists, recommended routes include Fernando Poe Jr. Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Kamuning Road, Ortigas Avenue, Boni Avenue, Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Arnaiz Avenue, Taft Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, and Macapagal Boulevard.

The MMDA also advised the public to consider using C-5 Road, Nichols, Bicutan, Osmeña Highway, and Skyway Stage 3 as alternate routes.

Authorities urged motorists to plan their trips ahead and expect heavier-than-usual traffic in affected areas while the marathon is underway.
