Motorists should expect mixed adjustments in fuel prices next week, with possible increases and decreases across petroleum products, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced.
According to DOE’s Oil Industry Management Bureau, Assistant Director Rodela Romero diesel prices could rise by around ₱0.80 per liter, while kerosene will see a ₱0.45 per liter hike.
Gasoline prices, meanwhile, may go the opposite direction, with a possible rollback of around ₱0.05 per liter.
Romero cited several factors behind the projected movements, including ongoing trade tensions between the United States and the European Union, which have affected global oil market sentiment.
She also pointed to optimism over China’s oil demand, following its higher-than-expected gross domestic product (GDP) growth and a stronger outlook for crude consumption.
Romero clarified that the estimates do not yet include oil companies’ operating costs and other related premiums.
